Day Twenty Five: A Recipe

There is a fabulous show on the BYU channel called The Food Nanny. It's about how she goes into various people's homes and helps them draw closer as a family by saving dinnertime.

She helps them to come up with a plan involving a 2 week menu and themed cuisines for each day of the week. She also has a fantastic cook book. I told my mom about this show and after she watched it a few times she bought her cookbook. All the recipes are delicious. Here is one of them.

The Food Nanny's Red and White Mostaccioli

1 lb tubular pasta
Alfredo Sauce
1 26 oz jar meatless spaghetti sauce
3 C shredded mozzarella cheese

Alfredo Sauce:
1/2 C butter
1 3 oz pkg cream cheese

1 pt heavy cream

1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 C grated parmesan cheese

salt and pepper

Melt butter in saucepan. Mix in cream cheese
. Stir in cream and garlic powder. Increase heat and bring to boil. Decrease heat and simmer, stirring often. Stir in parmesan cheese into sauce and season with salt and pepper.

Pasta Recipe:
Cook pasta. Spread thin layer of spaghetti sauce in 9x13 pan. Layer 1/2 pasta, 1/2 alfredo sauce, 1/2 spaghetti sauce and 1/2 cheese
. Repeat.
Cover with foil. Bake 30 mins at 350 Degrees.

Enjoy!

Hi Tiffany! I just scanned pretty much your whole blog. It's so cute! Congrats on your baby! I heard this dish was good but didn't have the recipe...winged it w/jarred alfredo sauce and it was way good. Need to watch her show!
